If you are trying to manage your property to produce a specific result in the composition or caliber of wildlife, baseline inventories are imperative. We provide surveys for target species identified by each landowner. Surveys are typically administered annually, sometimes more, to estimate population size and density. We highly recommend that more than one survey technique be used to increase the confidence in population estimates. Habitat assessments are also necessary in many cases to determine population trends. When dealing with game species, harvest estimates and harvest goals are established to maximize production while maintaining healthy numbers of animals as appropriate for each habitat type. A few of the types of survey techniques include: transect lines, mobile and on foot; aerial counts including fixed wing and helicopter; blind observations; spotlight counts and more. Each survey technique is selected based on management objectives and species.
