Prescribed Burns

   Prescribed fire, when used responsibly, is a cost-effective technique to management habitat for wildlife or for livestock. We provide landowners with a burn plan, develop a prescription, monitor the conditions, and when the time is right, perform the burn. Afterwards, we will assist landowners in post-burn management guidelines. We will provide equipment, including pumper trucks, and personnel as appropriate.

   Associated costs depend on acreage, location, fuel type, fuel load, terrain, season, and a few other factors specific to each location. Generally, prices run from $15 - $ 50 per acre with a minimum charge of $1000. Landowner participation will likely reduce these costs as personnel costs will depend on the number of personnel needed and experience. Landowners need to create and/maintain firelines, notify adjacent landowners, easement holders, and oil and gas companies.

   Prescribed fire is effective and it is imperative that every precaution be taken. We work with landowners and appropriate authorities to develop and administer each burn. Safety is our primary concern. We staff up with qualified, experienced individuals to perform a prescribed burn.
